Ceramic coating vs PPF: what's the difference?
One makes washing easy; the other takes the hits for your paint.

They're often sold together as if they were interchangeable — they do different jobs.
Ceramic
A micron-thin, hard, slick layer that sheds water and dirt — too thin to stop stone chips.
PPF
Dozens of times thicker, flexible and impact-absorbing — ideal for the front end.
Using both
Many owners fit front PPF and coat the rest — protection and easy washing on a sensible budget.
